Deuteronomy - Joshua, Israel’s new leader

Deuteronomy 31:2-7 (NKJV)

[2] And he said to them: “I am one hundred and twenty years old today. I can no longer go out and come in. Also the Lord has said to me, ‘You shall not cross over this Jordan.
[3] The Lord your God Himself crosses over before you; He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua himself crosses over before you, just as the Lord has said.
[4] And the Lord will do to them as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites and their land, when He destroyed them.
5 The Lord will give them over to you, that you may do to them according to every commandment which I have commanded you.
[6] Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
[7] Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it.

Deuteronomy - Clean Campsite

Deuteronomy 23:9-14 (NKJV)

[9] “When the army goes out against your enemies, then keep yourself from every wicked thing.
[10] If there is any man among you who becomes unclean by some occurrence in the night, then he shall go outside the camp; he shall not come inside the camp.
[11] But it shall be, when evening comes, that he shall wash with water; and when the sun sets, he may come into the camp.
[12] “Also you shall have a place outside the camp, where you may go out;
[13] and you shall have an implement among your equipment, and when you sit down outside, you shall dig with it and turn and cover your refuse.
[14] For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.

Deuteronomy - Debts canceled every seven years

Deuteronomy 15:1-6 (NKJV)

[1] “At the end of every seven years you shall grant a release of debts.
[2] And this is the form of the release: Every creditor who has lent anything to his neighbor shall release it; he shall not require it of his neighbor or his brother, because it is called the Lord’s release.
[3] Of a foreigner you may require it; but you shall give up your claim to what is owed by your brother,
[4] except when there may be no poor among you; for the Lord will greatly bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance—
[5] only if you carefully obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe with care all these commandments which I command you today.
[6] For the Lord your God will bless you just as He promised you; you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you.

Deuteronomy - Second Pair of Tablets

Deuteronomy 10:1-5 (NKJV)

[1] “At that time the Lord said to me, “Hew for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to Me on the mountain and make yourself an ark of wood.
[2] And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke; and you shall put them in the ark.”
[3] “So I made an ark of acacia wood, hewed two tablets of stone like the first, and went up the mountain, having the two tablets in my hand.
[4] And He wrote on the tablets according to the first writing, the Ten Commandments, which the Lord had spoken to you in the mountain from the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly; and the Lord gave them to me.
[5] Then I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tablets in the ark which I had made; and there they are, just as the Lord commanded me.”

Deuteronomy - Beware of Idolatry

Deuteronomy 4:15-19 (NKJV)

[15] “Take careful heed to yourselves, for you saw no form when the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire,
[16] lest you act corruptly and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure: the likeness of male or female,
[17] the likeness of any animal that is on the earth or the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the air,
[18] the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground or the likeness of any fish that is in the water beneath the earth.
[19] And take heed, lest you lift your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, you feel driven to worship them and serve them, which the Lord your God has given to all the peoples under the whole heaven as a heritage.
