Leviticus - Burnt Offering

Leviticus 1:1-5 (NKJV)

1. Now the Lord called to Moses, and spoke to him from the tabernacle of meeting, saying,
2. “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: “When any one of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of the livestock—of the herd and of the flock.
3. If his offering is a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish; he shall offer it of his own free will at the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the Lord.
4. Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.
5. He shall kill the bull before the Lord; and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood and sprinkle the blood all around on the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

Exodus: God’s Glory Cloud

Exodus 40:34-38 (NKJV)

34. Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
35. And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
36. Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would go onward in all their journeys.
37. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up. 38. For the cloud of the Lord was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

Exodus: Gave more than enough

Exodus 36:2-7 (NKJV)

2. Then Moses called Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted artisan in whose heart the Lord had put wisdom, everyone whose heart was stirred, to come and do the work.
3. And they received from Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of making the sanctuary. So they continued bringing to him freewill offerings every morning.
4. Then all the craftsmen who were doing all the work of the sanctuary came, each from the work he was doing,
5. and they spoke to Moses, saying, “The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the Lord commanded us to do.”
6. So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, “Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.” And the people were restrained from bringing,
7. for the material they had was sufficient for all the work to be done.

1. Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2. “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.

Exodus: The Ten Commandments

Exodus 20:1-17(NKJV)

1. And God spoke all these words, saying:
2. “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3. “You shall have no other gods before Me.
4. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
5. you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
6. but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
7. “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
8. “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9. Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10. but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
11. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
12. “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
13. “You shall not murder.
14. “You shall not commit adultery.
15. “You shall not steal.
16. “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17. “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

Exodus: Exiting Egypt – The Exodus

Exodus 12:31-36 (NKJV)

31. Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the Lord as you have said.
32. Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also.”
33. And the Egyptians urged the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste. For they said, “We shall all be dead.”
34. So the people took their dough before it was leavened, having their kneading bowls bound up in their clothes on their shoulders.
35. Now the children of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, and they had asked from the Egyptians articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing.
36. And the Lord had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.

Exodus: Egypt's Plague the 10th and final one

10th Plague – Death of all firstborn
Against – Pharaoh / The ultimate power of Egypt.
Pharaoh was looked at as a god not just a king.

Exodus 11:4-7 (NKJV)

5. and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the animals.
6. Then there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as was not like it before, nor shall be like it again.
7. But against none of the children of Israel shall a dog move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that the Lord does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.’

Exodus 9:22-26 (NKJV)
22. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt—on man, on beast, and on every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.”
23. And Moses stretched out his rod toward heaven; and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire darted to the ground. And the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt.
24. So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, so very heavy that there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
25. And the hail struck throughout the whole land of Egypt, all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail struck every herb of the field and broke every tree of the field.
26. Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.

8th Plague – Locusts sent from the sky
Against – Seth / Egyptian god of storms and disorder.

Exodus 10:3-6 (NKJV)
3. So Moses and Aaron came in to Pharaoh and said to him, “Thus says the Lord God of the Hebrews: How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me.
4. Or else, if you refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory.
5. And they shall cover the face of the earth, so that no one will be able to see the earth; and they shall eat the residue of what is left, which remains to you from the hail, and they shall eat every tree which grows up for you out of the field.
6. They shall fill your houses, the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians—which neither your fathers nor your fathers’ fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.’” And he turned and went out from Pharaoh.

9th Plague – Three days of complete darkness
Against – Ra / The sun god.

Exodus 10:21-23 (NKJV)
21. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt.”

23. They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
