[20] And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin, and the men of Israel put themselves in battle array to fight against them at Gibeah.
[21] Then the children of Benjamin came out of Gibeah, and on that day cut down to the ground twenty-two thousand men of the Israelites.
[22] And the people, that is, the men of Israel, encouraged themselves and again formed the battle line at the place where they had put themselves in array on the first day.

Book of James: Faith without works is useless

[14] What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
[15] If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,
[16] and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
[17] Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
[18] But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
[19] You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!
[20] But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

Book of I Samuel: Hannah's promise

[10] And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish.
[11] Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.”

Book of II Kings: Manasseh provoked God to anger

[1] Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hephzibah.
[2] And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
[3] For he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; he raised up altars for Baal, and made a wooden image, as Ahab king of Israel had done; and he worshiped all the host of heaven and served them.
[4] He also built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, “In Jerusalem I will put My name.”
[5] And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.
 [6] Also he made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted spiritists and mediums. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger.
