Greedy for Money and Power

~ Now that 2018 is on its way, we have seen little change. Matter of fact it has gotten worse. Mostly due to people becoming so complace...

Book of John ~ Every kernel of wheat must die

John 12:23-26 (NKJV)

[23] But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.

[24] Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.

[24] He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

[25] If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

Book of Mark ~ My name is Legion

Mark 5:6-13 (NKJV)

[6] When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him.

[7] And he cried out with a loud voice and said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God that You do not torment me.”

[8] For He said to him, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!”

[9] Then He asked him, “What is your name?”

And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.”

[10] Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country.

[11] Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains.

[12] So all the demons begged Him, saying, “Send us to the swine, that we may enter them.”

[13] And at once Jesus gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.

Book of Revelation ~ Multitudes of people and tribes

Revelation 7:9-10 (NKJV)

[9] After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,

[10] and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

Book of Mark ~ An Alabaster Box

Mark 14:3-9 (NKJV)

[3] And being in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, as He sat at the table, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly oil of spikenard. Then she broke the flask and poured it on His head.

[4] But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and said, “Why was this fragrant oil wasted?

[5] For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they criticized her sharply.

[6] But Jesus said, “Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me.

[7] For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good; but Me you do not have always.

[8] She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial.

[9] Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.”

Book of Acts ~ He fell out a 3rd floor window

Acts 20:7-12 (NKJV)

[7] Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.

[8] There were many lamps in the upper room where they were gathered together.

[9] And in a window sat a certain young man named, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.

[10] But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, “Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.”

[11] Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed.

[12] And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted.

Book of I Timothy ~ I was shown mercy

I Timothy 1:12-15 (NKJV)

[12] And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry,

[13] although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

[14] And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

[15] This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

Book of Luke ~ A man was beaten and robbed

Luke 10:30-37 (NKJV)

[30] Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

[31] Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

[31] Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.

[33] But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.

[34] So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

[35] On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’

[36] So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”

[37] And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”
